I had so much fun with this shoot! I honestly had no idea what to do when thinking about my graduation pictures. I knew that I wanted something different and I really wanted something that would fit my personality. Thinking of an idea was very hard because I am a journalism and sociology major and I thought, “how the heck am I going to do that?” I love magazine journalism and I also love fashion, beauty and entertainment. The magazines worked out perfectly and I believe that it really showcased the type of person I am: fun, free-spirited and obsessed with fashion!
I also wanted to shoot pictures in downtown Knoxville in order to get a different vibe. Of course I also kept my pictures somewhat traditional by posing by distinct University of Tennessee traditions around campus. However, Market Square (downtown Knoxville) was a place that I believe holds a lot of memories with friends and also a beautiful place to shoot my magazine theme.
The best advice I would give is to be yourself and take memorable pictures that showcases who you are and/or who you have become during your college career. I ordered my dress from Agaci.com. I had my friends do my hair and makeup so I didn’t have to spend any money and they did a fabulous job! Brandon Crawford was my photographer and I have worked with him on other occasions so I knew his capability. He always does a great job and is very inexpensive. You can email him at:email@example.com
I bought confetti and two gold balloons from Party City.
Think outside of the box and have fun! It doesn’t necessarily have to be your major but something that represents you. Congrats to all of the upcoming and future graduates!
